This 4 Days Aberdares and Samburu Kenya Safari starting from Nairobi is designed for people who love a combination of sight seeing (very beautiful views of farmlands and Mount Kenya as we head to Aberdare) and breathtaking landscape (Mathew Ranges – also known as the Lenkiyio Hills – and open endless plains) as we descend to Isiolo and on to Samburu National Reserve
Our Driver/guide will pick you from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning and drive North past lavish green vegetation of Kenyan highlands of Central Province. En-route you are able to see coffee and pineapple plantations and natural dwellings of the Kikuyu people.
Arrive in time for lunch at the tree hotel in Aberdare National Park. Afternoon will be spent at leisure. Enjoy the unique experience of all night and unlimited game viewing. Dinner and overnight at a Treetops lodge surrounded by forest and overlooking an illuminated waterhole and salt lick.
After breakfast, transfer to base hotel for onward journey to Samburu Game Reserve with beautiful views en-route. After lunch, a game drive to sight the resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the blue-necked Somali Ostrich that are rare elsewhere in the country. Dinner and overnight at your pre-booked Safari Camp or Lodge.

Aberdare National Park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker.
Enjoy two extensive game drives today at the Samburu game reserve. Explore and traverse over some of the world’s most spectacular and exciting terrain. Overnight and meals at the lodge/campsite.
Samburu Game Reserve lies to the north of Mount Kenya at the boundaries of the Laikipia Plateau. This scenically stunning area boasts healthy numbers of Africa’s big game (especially lion, elephant and leopard) and a wide diversity of rarer species such as the Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and Beisa Oryx. The river also houses crocodiles and hippos, and the open plains can be good for cheetah.
The lodge staff will wake you up at 0600 hrs, after a cup of tea or coffee and cookies you will proceed for the early morning game drive, this gives you a chance to spot many animals before the sun gets too hot as animals tend to hide in the thick bush when it is too hot.
At 0830 hrs return to the camp for full breakfast. After breakfast enjoy an exit game viewing drive as we leave Samburu Reserve and drive back to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or to the airport.
