Leave Mombasa early in the morning and drive to Amboseli National Park covers an area of 392 square km and is located 260km (4.5 hours drive) from Nairobi and 320 kilometers from Mombasa (almost 7.5 hours drive). This park forms part of the much larger 3,000 square km Amboseli ecosystem. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife but the principal attraction is its vast herds of elephant whseo study have shown that they exhibit intricate and complicated social structures which are incredibly similar to humans. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Other game include zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, leopard, caracal and serval cat.
After an early breakfast set off on a full day Safari game drive in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in search of elephants, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, lions and various antelopes. Our guide will take you through diverse habitats that range from grasslands to swamplands, which are home to an abundance of wildlife. This full day Safari will immerse you into nature and place you within safe distance of plains game and thus give you exceptional photographic opportunities.
We will have our picnic lunch at the Observation Hill – the highest elevation point in the park that affords it’s visitors 360 degrees view of park and the swamp below where elephants love to wallow and hippos lounge. After lunch we will enjoy another game drive before heading back to our lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast depart for Nairobi with game viewing en-route. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and drop off at your hotel.
